Hole #1
Strong Par3 to start with. No real danger around the green, don't short side yourself or it will be hard to make Par.
Hole #2
A shortish Par 5 which the longer hitters can get home in two. The average golfer should try and lay up short of the cross bunkers about 50 metres from the green, if you can do this you should make par.
Hole #3
Tough Par 4, avoid the fairway bunkers at all cost, especially the two on the left hand side. If you can do this you are still left with a medium to long iron into a very undulating green. Approach shot needs to be accurate as there is water left and right.
Hole #4
Second of the Par 3's and another tough one. Club selection is the key here, with bunkers surrounding the entire front of the green. It is better to be on the back edge, so take one more club than you think. Large flat green that slopes from back to front.
Hole #5
If you tend to hit the ball from right to left leave the driver in the bag. Otherwise the dam on the left of the fairway may swallow your ball. A 3 wood or rescue club up the fairway and a medium iron will miss all the trouble leaving a short iron into the green. Fairway narrows down around 70 metres from the green with both sides fairly heavily treed out; best to avoid these areas.
Hole #6
The hardest hole on the course for the men. A large bunker protects the right hand side of the fairway while a dam will catch any stray shots on the left side. The fairway narrows to around 10 metres at the bunker so the tee shot needs to be accurate. The large flat green is protected by a bunker left and some horrible thick rough on the right.
Hole #7
A relatively straightforward Par 3. A bunker left protects the green and a grassy hollow protects the right hand side. A bunker 10 metres short on the right will catch a poorly hit shot making it difficult to get up and down. Medium size green sloping from back to front, normally very quick when putting from the back of the green to a front pin placement.
Hole #8
A Members survey rated this as their favourite hole on the course. A shortish Par 5 that the longer hitters can reach in two, but a mishit second shot can lead to a double or worse. A right to left tee shot is preferable to give yourself the best position into the green. If you lay up avoid the large fairway bunker 70 metres short of the green. If you go for the green in two, beware the water which runs the last 200 metres on the left. A small two tiered green with bunkers left and right.
Hole #9
A short Par 4 that only requires a 3 wood or a rescue club from the tee. Avoid the two bunkers on the right and you will only have a short iron into the green. The small flat green in protected by 3 bunkers with some long thick rough at the back.
Hole #10
A shortish Par 4 that requires the tee shot to come up short of a large bunker on the right. The real difficulty on this hole is the green which has some serious undulations making for some interesting putting. A large bunker protects the left hand side and a nasty swale at the back will take the ball right off the green and down a steep slope leaving a difficult up and down. This green has frustrated golfers of all handicaps, the best piece of advice here is to try and keep the ball below the hole.
Hole #11
A drivable Par 4 if you're brave enough. Out of bounds runs the entire length of the right hand side and a large clump of lomandra grass will catch the stray shot to the left of the green. A small green protected by a bunker at the front. The sensible play is a long iron to keep you in the fairway which will leave you a short iron to the green.
Hole #12
A long straightforward Par 5. Tree lined both sides but they shouldn't cause too much trouble as the fairway is very wide. Water cuts in at 100 metres from the green on both sides of the fairway so be careful with your lay up. A long skinny green with a steep slope from back to front which can play 3 clubs different depending on the pin position. Avoid the small grassy hollow on the left of the green.
Hole #13
A tough Par 4 which requires an accurate tee shot out a narrow tree lined corridor. Out of bounds runs the entire length of the hole on the right hand side. The left hand side is protected by large mounds and trees. A good drive will leave a medium iron to a large undulating green with bunkers front and left. A good golf hole, making par no certainty.
Hole #14
A great Par 5 with water all the way down the left. A generous fairway allows the average golfer plenty of room to aim away from the water without hitting into the trees, but over do it and out of bounds is beyond the trees. The second shot requires that you avoid the two bunkers up the right hand side. The large green slopes back to front. Many a 3 putt has been seen on this green.
Hole #15
A tough Par 4 that requires a left to right tee shot. The longer hitters will normally try to cut the corner leaving a short iron into the green if successful. If not, 3 large bunkers and large trees protect the corner making par difficult. Water runs the entire length of the left hand side and a straight shot from the tee can run through the fairway into the water. A large undulating green is protected by a bunker on the left and grass mounds on the right.
Hole #16
A straight forward Par 3 with only one bunker on the left. A large swale on the right will collect a poorly hit shot making a difficult up and down. The large flat green is deceivingly quick and has some subtle breaks.
Hole #17
The shortest hole on the course but don't take this hole lightly. A small quick undulating green with bunkers left and right and a creek in front. From the tee it looks like you throw it on the green but many a good round has been ruined by this hole.
Hole #18
A short Par 4 that only requires a tee shot of around 180 metres. Any more than this and you will either find the cross bunkers or will be blocked out from the green by the trees. It's a large reasonably flat green and well bunkered. The approach shot is crucial on the approach to the green. Par shouldn't be too hard if you find the putting surface.
